Stock Road Glide audio sounds fine at a light and disappears at 70 mph. Kicker's 50HDR154 Road Glide kit is a complete plug-and-play fix for 2015–2023 "shark-nose" fairings: a pair of 6.5" 2-ohm coaxials and a compact 4-channel amp rated at 75W x 4 RMS @ 2Ω, with pre-terminated harnesses.
Always follow Kicker's included instructions and your Harley service manual. This guide is an overview, not a substitute.
What's in the box (per the kit listing)
- 6.5" coaxial speakers, 2-ohm pair, with 20mm neo-titanium tweeters
- 4-channel amplifier with custom mounting bracket
- Pre-measured, pre-terminated speaker and power harnesses
Overview of the install
- Disconnect the battery and remove the outer fairing per your service manual.
- Remove the factory speakers and unplug them.
- Mount the amplifier on the supplied bracket inside the fairing.
- Connect the plug-and-play harnesses between the radio, amp and new speakers. No cutting or splicing is needed.
- Install the new 6.5" speakers in the factory locations.
- Reconnect the battery and test at low volume. Check balance and fade before you reassemble the fairing.
- Set the gains on the amp so it's loud and clean at highway speed without distortion.
Taking it further
- Add rear fill with the 52HDBX1469 saddlebag 6x9 kit, or the 52HDBX14 if you're supplying your own speakers.
- Need more amp channels for the bags? See the compact KPX300.4.
- Got an older 1998–2013 Road Glide? See the 50HDR982.
